A "Sweet" Night!

The youth at our church hosted a Dessert night for a fundraiser to go to a youth conference.

 

The tables were decorated with candles and flowers...very sweet!

 



We had a sweet waitress and sweet friends to visit with.

 

 

And oh...the sweets to choose from - 12 different desserts!

 



And the sweet Casey led the night and made it well, really sweet!
 



And then I came home to a farewell gift at my door....homemade afghan and slippers to keep me warm in the north and snowmen....just because I collect them and she knows.....NOW ISN'T THAT SWEET!  Thanks Nelda!

What Day Is It?

Administrative Professionals Day (also known as Secretaries Day or Admin Day) is an unofficial secular holiday observed in several countries to recognize the work of secretaries, administrative assistants, receptionists, and other administrative support professionals. I received beautiful flowers from the Executives that I work with...how nice to be treated so special. 

I always feel very appreciated on this day (and lots of other days too) but I also know that it is a team effort and there are many others ....like when it is Recruitment and Training Specialist Day?

And tomorrow is another special day....It's Friday!

Happiness is....

• Completing an exam and feeling confident with it
• Having a good offer on our house
• Roses on my kitchen table

 

 

 Because now I can look forward to:

• Not studying all weekend
• Not having to clean my house for another showing
• Taking time to smell the roses!

A special gift from a special friend....

Anybody that knows me knows that I like tea and I like it a lot.  Don't bother giving me a little tea cup.  Yes, they look pretty but for me a pot of tea is much better.  When I go to Tim Hortons I just go for the extra large....I mean, why not?  So my friends like to joke about the size of cups that I have in my house.

 



So today one of my young friends gave me a wonderful gift.  She just returned from a trip to the Mediterranean and brought me back a new mug for my collection of supersize cups.  It was so sweet of her to think of me.

 

 

 

It holds 16 ounces (500 ml) of tea.  Now, she is telling me that I have to leave my old standby teas and get adventurous.  Thanks Casey for thinking of me!  I will still have the smaller cups for you and your mom when you come since you seem to be a little afraid of having a whole pot of tea in one sitting.

My Sisters

Well I would normally say (to the groans of my family)....I was the "poor middle child."  In reality, we were all loved equally by wonderful parents; but you must admit that there is some truth to the following:

• the middle child is the most patient 
• the oldest gets to lead the way, has all the pictures taken of them 
• the youngest is the spoiled one

But enough said.  Don't you just love ringlets?  My mom obviously did.  Oh, and the matching dresses!  That was always fun because look, my older sister has the same dress and guess what, when she outgrows it....I get to wear the same dress again (and this time it is out of style).  I was so glad when I grew taller than my older sister but she refused to wear my hand-me-downs.

At 19 I married my wonderful husband and after 30 years of marriage we have two great kids....Jenn and Stephen and three grandchildren.  Wow, time flies.

Getting Started

So...I thought I might try blogging since there are lots of new things happening in my life but this may be the hardest thing to try and figure out.

I wonder if I will ever be able to find my thoughts again....I mean my blog????
