Out With The Old....In With The New

The month of December flew by.  I love Christmas and so in November the decorations went up and throughout this busy month we were able to enjoy the lights and Christmas carols.

Work was almost full time for me but we took a weekend off.

Once the college term was over and the last exam was marked and entered into the school system it was time to wait for the festivities to begin.  Christmas was delayed at our house while we waited for the guests to arrive on the 28th.

Excitement started to brew when it was time to open the gifts.

It was then time for us to open our presents.  Bentley was right in the middle of things because that is where that pup likes to be.
Lilly enjoyed her gift too!
When the gifts were all opened and the wrapping paper was picked up I was feeling quite spoiled.
The next day we celebrated our boy's 26th birthday!  It is hard to believe that our little boy is that old.  We are so proud of him and were very excited to have him and all his furry friends for a few days to make our house a little more exciting.

On New Year's Eve we got the games out and enjoyed the competition.

We took a break when it got dark and drove to Trochu to walk through the arboretum.   It was beautiful.

On New Year's day the house was empty again.  Everyone was gone and back to work.  I jumped into taking down the decorations and cleaning the house and six hours later my house was back to normal.

So out with 2016 ...hello 2017!  Last year was a great year and we are well on our way to planning this year.

Here's our plans so far....January (actually 4 more sleeps)...and with the weather being close to -30's this week Hawaii is going to feel so nice!
February - Ron will be off to Ontario for a short trip to visit family and especially to give our grandchildren a hug.
June, we will be travelling back to Ontario for a couple of weeks for lots of exciting events.
Not only will we be able to enjoy Spencer's wedding but Jenn and Joe are planning on getting married on my parent's 60th anniversary.

Throughout the summer we hope to spend some time on the motorcycle and explore new roads.  Once September arrives we will be excited to be a part of this special day.
Yes, we have a lot of 2017 planned but then again you never know what tomorrow holds.  Will we be in Three Hills next year this time?  What hikes will we discover?  Well, I guess we can't answer all the questions in one blog....that's what 2017 is all about!  Happy New Year everyone!
